I received an envelope from Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Vacations (aka Ramada Plaza Resort) today.
Inside the envelope, there was a travel voucher worth $1300. I was promised 4 days & 3 nights at a Ramada Plaza Resort in Florida, another 3 days & 2 nights at another Ramada Plaza Resort in Florida, a 2 night Caribbean Cruise and 7 days transportation by Alamo Rent-A-Car with unlimited mileage.
Too good to be true? Well, you know how the saying goes.
This Ramada Plaza Resort scam is fairly well-known. In fact, back in 2005, I filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and also the Florida Attorney General upon receiving this scam. They acknowledged the complaint as I received a formal response from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
This “deluxe” vacation package consists of two sub-standard hotels and a very old, poorly kept ship. This “deluxe” vacation package also violates the following sections of the Sellers of Travel Act: 559.932 (Vacation certificate disclosure), 559.933 (Vacation certificate cancellation and refund provisions) and 559.9335 (Violations).
If you have been scammed by Ramada Plaza Resort, contact me using the comments section of this blog entry. I have enough legal documentation to get you a full refund.
I was a fool and purchased this package.
I first tried to cancel the package and was denied because I wasn’t within the time limit. I’m not sure if it was 10 days or 1 month.
I am now trying to resell the package on craigslist with no luck.
If you can offer any help I would be appreciative.
Thank you
Can you please contact me on this? Thanks
I just ran across your blog about the Ramada plaza Resorts (Imperial Majesty Cruises). I was flat-broke, but managed to scrounge up enough money to purchase the same package that you had to surprise my fiance. Two months later, I am still broke AND reading DOZENS of posts of people who have been scammed by this company. The worst part? I spoke so highly of the “deal” that I received that SIX of my friends also purchased the package.
I sincerely don’t mean to bother you, however, could you please send me some of the legal documentation that would help get my money back? With the money that I spent, I might as well use it on a legitimate cruise with a reputable company.
Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated…by all seven of us on my end. Thank you!

Please can you send my any info that would be useful to helping him get a refund
Thanks very much
Phil
Hi,
Ramada seems to now be targetting foreiners such as I in Canada who had never heard of their scams. I purchased a package in dec07 and wish to get a refund…is it possible for me as a Canadian to still make a claim or do they have me because I live outside of the US? Many thanks for your help
hey i just talked with them and gave them all my info but searching now im really uncomfortable with this, could you please tell me how to cancell this package?!? thank you so much!!
Sure, I’ll e-mail you the required information. Julianne tried my method and reported that it worked for her as well.
IT APPEARS I WAS SCAM TWICE . THEY CALLED ME TO BOOK A VACATION THIS YEAR TELLING ME I HAD A 698.00 DAPOSIT AND I OWED ANOTHE 449.00 OR I WOULD LOSE IT.I HAVEING A MEMORY PROBLEM SAID I COULD NOT REMEMER SUCH A THING . THEY ASSURED ME I DID. NOT WANTING TO LOSE THE 698.OO I AGREED TO HAVE THEM USE MY CREDIT CARD,SO STUPID. AFTER HANGING UP I CALLED MY CREDIT CARD AND ASK IF I HAD A CHARGED AT THAR TIME ,THEY SAID YES, I DIDNT ASK IF THEY HAD CANCELLED AT THAT TIME ,BUT AS TIME PASSED AND WHEN THEY SENT ME THE PACKAGE I REMEMBERED IT AND CALLEDCHASE BANK AND THEY FOUN D OUT THEY HAD CANCELLED IT .AND MY MONEY WAS RETURNED . THEY ARE NOW WORKING ON THIS CHARGE. IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU CAN HELP ME WITH I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT .this is a valid e-mail
I also was scammed twice..1st, the whole high pressured sales pitch on the phone. I ended up paying $698. Then another company claiming to be a part of Ramada said if I paid my remaining balance that my package wouldn’t expire and it would be upgraded, blah blah blah. I did to get this out of the way and a while later, I received a call from Ramada asking if i had forgotten about them. I explained the situation and they claimed they had no part in that. I did get that money back ($627) but Ramada won’t refund me my $698 because of a time limitation…I have a small child and a baby on the way, even if I WANTED to (which is definitely NOT the case) I couldn’t take this scam of a vacation. I would very much appreciate your legal documentation to hopefully get my much deserving money back!! Please help! THank you so much!!
I also purchased this package. I was wondering if you could you please contact me too? I called and tried to get a refund and mentioned statute 559.933 but they said it doesn’t count since I’m not a Florida resident.
Thank you so much!
I e-mailed you both instructions and also a template. I hope you get a refund.
Hello,
Just this past weekend I agreed to this Ramada/Imperial Cruise scam and I’d really like to get out of it. I hate myself for making the call and actually going along with it. It sounded too good to pass up and I can’t beleive I actually fell for what they were feeding me. The following day I did some research and found all the complaints about it being a scam/rip-off.
I immediatly called my credit card company last night and told them of the situation. The woman said we could dispute it and she’d help me out. The charge was still pending so she said to call back in 3 or 4 days.
Will my credit card company be able to help me at all??? If not, then I can really use your help. I’m a poor college student and thought this would be worth the low price (I’m going into the travel/tourism industry and am very interested in travel. Any little discounts anywhere are very tempting to me) but even if it all was legit, I still shouldn’t have agreed. With car and apartment payments and utilities and food I’m just getting by and I don’t want to be paying close to $1000 for this “free” vacation.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you,
Sarah

ronaldn6@verizon.net
please give me information on how to get a refund. thank you
I am so glad you have this on your blog. I also was solicited, but was told we would be staying at the Calypso Cay Resort and would have a condo with full amenities. In fact, it lists the Calypso Cay web site on the welcome letter, with the terms and conditions on the back. However, they sent the itinerary for the Ramada Maingate West. I am taking my aunt who has Down Syndrome and is in a wheelchair (as well as another aunt and cousin) and we are supposed to be leaving in 2 days. I found several places stating that this vacation is a scam while trying to find if the places we are supposed to be staying are wheelchair assessible. I would appreciate it if you would send me the information/template to get a full refund. Thank you so much for your time.
I purchased this package last year having until February 2011 to use it. My husbands hours have been cut and we don’t know how much longer he will be working. Also, have unforseen medical bills. Now, I have heard so many complaints about Imperial Majesty Cruises (Ramada Plaza Resorts) and also noted complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau in Florida. Thought I would be able to cancel until I looked over the paper work. Then I found that the cancellation noticed had to be postmarked by midnight of the 7th day or the day any membership card and all membership materials are received by me. I haven’t signed any contracts but have received materials. I looked up the Florida Statute 559.933 but don’t know if it’s of any help for me. Please help me by sending any information that will help me get a refund.
I would like to know how I can get a refund. My motherinlaw originally signed up for this, and had passed away, and not I am unable to get a refund.
i fell for this in 2007 and paid some money to them- i dont want the vacation, told the people on the phone this. First guy said ok and hung up. second person i told not to call me. third person has said that i have a balance owing for a vacation i am not going to take. can someone please tell me how to get them to stop calling me and asking for this “balance” I will forfeit the money paid two years ago
I am also a victim of Ramada Plaza Resorts (RPR). I paid first $698 in 2004. Then 6 months later, a rep from RPR called and advised me that if I paid another $698 for the 2nd person, he would upgrade my package to VIP which extended my package to another 3 yrs to 2009. So, I paid. This year, I planed to use my package so I called them to book my vacation. They told me that my package is invalid because it’s expired regardless what I told them I was lie to pay for 2nd person for 3 yrs extendable period. In order to renew my package, I had to pay another $830. And they refused to give me back my previous payments ($698×2)!
I think it is getting too ridiculous. I need your great help so that I can get my previous payments back. You wouldn’t imagine how much this means to me. It’s really been a nightmare to me for past 3 weeks to figure out how to get a refund especially after several yrs
many thanks,
Renia
Could you send me the legal documentations please. I was told I just have to make a complaint to the division of consumer affairs, but I want to make sure I have all the information first before I pursue it. Thank you in advance
i to had the same problem as renia only i am canadian .thanks for your help . ed
I have sadly been dragged out by this company since 2004, and finally have had too much. Any legal documentation you have that I can use would be greatly appreciated.
I have been scammed and have paid out more than $1000. A refund would be nice but at this point I would just like them to stop harrassing me and saying that I will be legally held to pay a remaining balance of $898 on a vacation that I do not plan on taking. Please send me information that will assist me in getting out of this situation.
Please please instruct us how to get our money back!!!!! ASAP!
I bought my Vacation Package two years ago, I reserved it to go in May, however after reading all the horror stories online, and already experiencing false information, I am ready to fight to get a full refund. Please, PLEASE, please help me.
please let me know how to get a refund from this company!
I just signed up for the 598.00 special which included 6 nights resort, 2 vip universal studio tickets for 2 days and a car rental. They said i won a cruise when they first called me but i told them i did not want it as that later cost 149.00 each. They said that would be okay. I was given some reservation number which i lost and i waited to get my package in the mail. All i got was a piece of paper telling me to look up my package online. I didnt I phoned them instead and said I wanted a refund as I couldnt believe that is all they sent for me paying 598.00. I also then looked up online all about them and I definately do not want to be a part of this scam. They told me I only had 2 days to cancel and then hung up on me . I called the next day and they were so nice but again I was too late to cancel as Canadians have only 10 days. They then said they would upgrade the car and give me another day since i was told that i didnt have to go to a presentation which I do have to. They also told me that I do not have universal tickets but I have a 100.00 entertainment voucher that i can use for buying a ticket, which i then found out the next day that i have to give up the car to get that 100.00. They have lied to me about other things too but all i want is to get out. i phoned and faxed my request before 30days and within my 2 days of receiving the letter. Thank you very much if you are willing to help
karen
I wish I’d of read this before I agreed to this cruise deal. If it’s too good to be true it must be, could you please email your method.
Thanks
